Career Development

- Exploring career pathways, college options, and other post secondary options of interest
- Individualized future goal planning to help students feel more prepared for their future
- Resume preparation
- Exploring post secondary financial planning options through FAFSA completion, scholarship searches, College First (Ascent) opportunities, WIA (see paying for college tab)
- Enrolling students in Concurrent Enrollment opportunities through local colleges (see Concurrent Enrollment tab)
- Offer internships in professional settings throughout various DPS departments (See Internship tab)
Personal and Social Development
- Working with students around personal barriers that have prohibited them from being successful in previous schools
- Providing support through academic, personal and daily life stressors
- Providing referrals for ongoing support or resources in the community
- Creating awareness around budgeting
- Advocate for students through personal conflict and academic challenges with teachers and other professionals
- Help students work on personal accountability, self advocacy, setting boundaries, and communication that translates into all areas of life
- Offer internships that help student gain life experience and interpersonal/social skills
